Two-day “Chintan Sivir-2024 was commences at Welcome Hotel in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar:14/11/24:A A two-day “Chintan Sivir-2024” was organised by the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy today at the Welcome Hotel in Bhubaneswar. Union Minister, New & Renewable Energy Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi, Minister of State MNRE Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo, Union Power Secretary Shri Pankaj Agrawal, Principal Secretary, Energy Shri Vishal Dev were present in the Shivir.

Odisha is enriched with natural resources. By using its natural resources, non-fossil fuel sources Odisha is going to generate electricity and contribute to achieving the ambitious target of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 500 GW of renewable energy. By 2032, India’s electricity demand will double. To overcome the bottlenecks in electricity, we have to produce more electricity by using renewable energy, non-fossil fuels, solar power. As of today India already achieved the target of 212 GW of non-fossil fuel energy target. To enhance it, the Government of India has allocated 22 Lakh Crore rupees already.

Joining this Shivir, the Minister of State Shir Shripad Yesso Naik said that, there is a target of 500 MT Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia production and equal importance is being given to energy generation from waste. The National Grid is being set up to provide a sustainable electricity infrastructure to the entire country.

Dy. CM Shri Singhdeo joined the Shivir and highlighted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for Odisha. He said that in the coming days, Odisha is preparing a roadmap for PSPs, PM-Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana Schemes. He also highlighted the plans to start a floating solar power plant operational in Hirakud Reservoir. Two days before, Shri Singdeo attended the Power Ministers’ Conference in New Delhi while unveiling the strategies and various plans of Odisha.

On the first day of the Chintan Shivir insightful discussions about PM-Surya Ghar Mufti Bijli Yojana, increasing solar energy production, India: Global Producer of Solar Energy, use of Solar energy in Agri Sector, potential of Renewable Energy, etc.
Later, Union Minister Shri Pralhad Joshi went to Puri and had blessings of Lord Jagannath and flagged off 10 Battery-operated vehicles at Jagannath Temple, Odisha as part of IREDA CSR initiative. Shri Pradip Kumar Das, CMD, IREDA, Dr. B.K. Mohanty, Director (Finance), IREDA was present with Union Minister.
