Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Buys Diyas From Local Vendors Before Flying To Keonjhar

Bhubaneswar:31/10/24: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi embarked on a two-day visit to his home district Keonjhar on Thursday.

According to official sources, he departed for Keonjhar at 11.20 am in a special flight from Biju Patnaik International Airport here. After arriving at Raisuan Air Strip at 11.55 am, he will head to Keonjhar Circuit House. After taking some rest, he will leave for his native place, Raikala, by road and is expected to reach there at 2.30 pm.

CM Majhi is scheduled to attend a family function and celebrate the festival in accordance with the tribal traditions. He will then return to Circuit House for a night stay around 9 pm. He will return to Raikala the following day at 8.30 am to attend family events again and return to Circuit House at 2 pm before taking a flight back to Bhubaneswar from Raisuan Air Strip at around 3.40 pm.

On Diwali, tribal people perform Sohrai Puja, and the CM will be attending it. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister along with his wife visited the Unit-I Market in Bhubaneswar and purchased earthen lamps, rangoli, and other items from local vendors to support the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative. “I along with my family bought diyas and other items from street vendors. I want to wish everyone a very happy and safe Diwali,” he said in a video message, Majhi had earlier wished the citizen a very happy and prosperous Diwali and emphasized his commitment to building a developed Odisha and taking its glory to new heights.
