Steps will be taken for the development of craftsmen of Delang Pipili area rich heritage

Pipili :16/10/24: Delang Pipili area is rich in heritage. The world-famous Chandua originated here and the heroic Naga dance here is very impressive. Dayanachori fairs of Odisha’s famous Harirajpur and Balanga have been held here for a long time. Therefore, steps will be taken for the development of the artisans and craftsmen of this site, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said while attending the Kumar festival organised by the local Hardurga Club at Alarpur near Pipili on Tuesday evening.

The Chief Minister said, “For the first time you have given the responsibility of governing Odisha to the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Pipili region was filled with violence and anarchy and our government condemns such a mentality. This great land is associated with Jagannath culture and is sacred. We are determined for the development of this region.”

According to Majhi said, “A beautiful image comes up before our eyes when we talk about Pipli. Your handmade chanduas are so beautiful that even Lord Jagannath loves them. During the Rath Yatra, the three chariots are decorated by you. Your art is amazing and I bow to the sculptors here. Apart from providing you with a huge market, we will always strive to honour your artistry,” he said.

The Chief Minister also appreciated the efforts of Har Durga Youth Club for preserving the art, culture and tradition of the region through the Kumar festival.

Highlighting the welfare programmes of the government, the Chief Minister said, “Our government is working sensitively for the welfare problems of the people. Through the grievance redressal programme, efforts are being made to meet people and solve their problems. Therefore, within a short period of time, our new government has earned the reputation of a people’s government.”
