Jordan.:26/89/24: Odisha made a memorable start in the first-ever AFC Women Champions League as they outplayed Singapore’s Lion City Sailors 4-1 in Jordan.

Odisha FC missed many chances before Lion City Sailors equalized in the 40th minute. Going into half-time with scores level 1-1, OFC went all guns blazing in the second session with Lynda scoring twice in quick succession (54th, 57th).

Lion City Sailors put pressure on the Odisha side, but recently-recruited Ibhrahim Maryam was solid at center-back.

Odisha’s tally was completed in the 88th minute as the Singapore outfit let in another own goal. Odisha FC will play local Jordanian team Etihad Club in their group league game on August 31. The group winners will qualify for the next stage.
