Bhitarkanika National Park has now been reopened to tourists from August 1,2024

Kendrapara:1/8/24: After being closed for three months, Bhitarkanika National Park has now been reopened to tourists today. The closure was due to the breeding season of the endangered saltwater crocodile.

Sources indicate that the park was closed from May 1st to July 31st to support the crocodiles’ breeding process. With the breeding season over, the park is ready to welcome nature enthusiasts again.

For an enhanced visitor experience, the forest department has constructed a 15-foot-high skywalk at Dangamal this year. The 600-meter-long skywalk allows tourists to appreciate the natural environment and observe various birds, deer, and reptiles.

The wooden walkway, which is 600 meters in length, begins at the Mangrove Metta Nursery, offering tourists a special way to connect with the natural world. To ensure the safety of visitors, the walkway will accommodate only 20 tourists at any given time.
