Puri:16/7/24:The ritual popularly known as Suna Besha, the Odisha Police has launched a QR code that will enable commuters to avoid traffic jams by utilising the AI-powered chatbot.
“Stay out of traffic jams in Sunabesha 2024 by utilizing the AI-powered chatbot. Acquire real-time updates, avoid delays, and discover the most efficient routes. Sending a simple ‘Hi” will enable you to navigate without any issues,” the Odisha police informed on X.
Traffic Mobility Plan for Suna Besha on 17th July 2024:
Inter-State Tourist Buses, Reserve Buses etc.:
- During this period all the Inter-State Tourist Buses, Tourist Buses within the State and Reserve Buses coming from BBSR side towards Puri will stop and park at Malatipatpur Bus Stand. Their return will be on the same route via Satyabadi, Pipili, and Uttara.
- The Reserve/ Tourist Buses coming from the Konark side will park at Nagapatna Parking and return will be on the same route.
- The Reserve/ Tourist Buses coming from Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Flourish India near Mangalaghat Chowk and return will be on the same route.
Regular Passenger Buses Coming from Bhubaneswar side: –
- Local passengers carrying Buses/ Canters/ MO Bus and OSRTC buses will not be allowed to come to Municipality Bus Stand, Puri.
- All these regular passenger-carrying buses coming from the BBSR side will be allowed up to Talabania Temporary Bus Stand via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar Chowk, Grid Station Chowk, and Bhudan Chowk.
Return Route-Plan:
- The Regular plying Buses will avail the return route from Talabania Temporary Bus Stand, Central School Chowk, Bhudan Chowk, Grid Station Chowk, Balighat, Gopalpur, Samangara village, Biraharekrushnapur Bazar & Batagaon then on NH-316.
Regular Passenger Buses coming from Bramhagiri side:
- All regular passenger buses coming from Brahmagiri side will ply up to Talabania Parking Place via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar, Grid Station Chowk and Bhudan Chowk and will return from Talabania Temporary Bus Stand, Central School Chowk, Bhudan Chowk, Grid Station Chowk, Balighat, Gopalpur, Samangara village, Biraharekrushnapur Bazar & Batagaon.
Regular Passenger Buses coming from Konark side:
- The regular passenger-carrying buses coming from the Konark side will be diverted to Talabania Parking Place via Grid Station Crossing and will return on the same route.
Light Vehicles without Pass Holders :
- The light vehicles coming to Puri on NH-316 will be diverted from Malatipatapur to parking places University Campus, ITI Parking, Helipad and via Bhudan Chowk, Indoor stadium via ROB to Grid Station via Baidas Nagar Chowk and Talabania.
- When the both Sanskrit University Campus and ITI parking are filled up, the light vehicles will be parked in the Indoor Stadium Parking and Helipad parking, Fish Market near Talabania PS & Horticulture Parking.
- The route for light vehicles coming from the Konark side will avail the same route for to & fro. When the vehicles reach Toshali Sands Crossing on Marine Drive Road, they will be allowed to the ITI parking place and helipad parking place on a first come first avail basis.
- The light vehicles coming from the Brahmagiri side to Puri will be diverted from Mangalaghat Chowk to the Yatrika Parking Place, Nali field near Lighthouse Chowk.
Samanga 4-wheeler parking
- In case of a heavy influx of LMVs from the Bhubaneswar side then all the light vehicles will be allowed to park at Samanga parking place via Malatipatpur, Batagaon, Shree Setu diversion point, Mangalaghat & the entry point of Samanga parking. The return of the vehicle will be on the same way.
Return Route-Plan:
- All the light vehicles will return from their respective Parking Places via ITI, PKRIT, Central School Grid Station Chowk and Balighat, Biraharekrushnapur, Batagaon & to NH-316 (Puri-Bhubaneswar).
- In case of congestion on NH 316, all the light vehicles will be diverted from Grid Station Chowk via Balighai- Nagapatana – Gop – Nimapara – Pipili.
- The vehicles will return to Konark via ITI Chaka, PKRIT, Central School, Grid Station Chowk, Baliguali, Nagapatana and Toshali Sands on Puri-Konark Marine Drive Road.
- The light vehicles from Yatrika parking returning to Brahmagiri side will be diverted from Mangalaghat Chowk.
Light Vehicles of Pass Holders:
- The light vehicles having car passes coming on NH 316 will be diverted at Batagaon and allowed to park at JBPC Parking Place via Shree Setu. This Parking place will be filled on a first come priority basis.
- After filling up JBPC Parking the light vehicles having car passes coming on NH 316 will be allowed to park at Gadadhar High School via Mangalaghat, Sterlin Chowk, Co-copalm, Brushava Chowk.
- After filling up Lokanath Parking, all vehicles will be parked at Yatrika Parking and Nali field parking. They will return on the same way.
- The dead body-carrying vehicle with one more accompanying vehicle can only be allowed up to Swargadwar on the same route which has been earmarked for the pass holder light vehicle and will return as per the route prescribed for pass holders.
Two Wheelers coming from Bhubaneswar Side: –
- Two-wheelers coming on NH-316 will be allowed to park at the Old JBPC parking place via Malatipatapur, Batagoan, Shree Setu & Devi Ghat. When Old JBPC parking is filled then 2-wheeler will be parked at Matitota.
- The vehicles parked at Old JBPC will return via Jatia Baba Chowk, Kumbharapda PS, Atharanala, Charinala, and Batagaon.
- The vehicles parked at Matitota will return via Bypass Road towards Batagaon.
Two Wheelers coming from Bramhagiri Side: –
- Two-wheelers coming from the Brahmagiri side will be parked at Old JBPC Parking Place and Matitota parking place as per availability. During return, they will avail the same route.
Two Wheelers coming from Konark Side:
- The two-wheelers coming from the Konark side will be parked at Blue Flag Beach parking via Grid station, CT Road and Subash Bose Chowk.
- When the Blue Flag beach parking is filled up the two-wheeler is parked at Hotel Nilachal Ashok parking and the Back side of Holiday Resort. But no vehicle will be allowed to avail ROB road from Toshali Chowk.
Shuttle Service Route lining:
- All shuttle services (Auto Rickshaw) will avail the route line from Talabania to Ram Mandir Chowk via Sadar block office and Odisha bakery Chowk.
- Their return will be allowed from Ram Mandir Chowk to Talabania via Shreekhetra Colony and Mangala Temple.
- Another shuttle service will be available from Malatipatapur Bus Stand to Atharanala and the return route will be the same.
- Some designated shuttle buses are allowed to and fro from Subas Bose Chowk to Light House Chowk.
PURI POLICE ADVISORY FOR CROWD CONTROL, TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT FOR SUNA BESHA
Due to the anticipated large crowd of devotees on Suna Besha day, when Lord Jagannath and His siblings are adorned with gold jewellery, the district police have implemented extensive measures for traffic management and crowd control in the pilgrim town for the event on Wednesday.
The police have also issued a 24×7 helpline number- 112, 6370967100 & 6370972100 to assist devotees.
