Tata Steel Meramandali Launches Monsoon Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Collaboration with Dhenkanal Police

Narendrapur, July 05, 2024: The Security Department of Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM), in collaboration
with the Dhenkanal Police, has launched an awareness campaign on monsoon road and health safety to
enhance the safety of its workers, drivers, employees, and the community during the monsoon season. The
campaign was launched at the TSM Main Gate near NH 55.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of road safety and health safety measures
during the monsoon season. With the onset of heavy rains, the roads become more treacherous, increasing
the likelihood of accidents and incidents, hence creating awareness around this subject is crucial.
Prakash Sanjay, Chief Security Tata Steel Kalinganagar and TSM formally launched the campaign,
Vilas N Gaikwad, Chief Safety, TSM, Jitendra Mallik, Inspector-In-Charge, Motanga, TA Khan, Officer In-
Charge, Kantabania, Basant Kumar Das, Highway Patrolling In-charge, Dhenkanal in the presence of
Abhishek Sharma, Head, of Security, TSM, and other officials of TSM.
The campaign includes various initiatives such as awareness drives among drivers, commuters, and
workers and the distribution of safety leaflets and a nukkad natak (street play). The nukkad natak
aimed to educate the audience on the significance of following vehicle safety guidelines during the monsoon season
The play skillfully depicted various scenarios, emphasizing the importance of safe driving, maintaining proper vehicle fitness, and keeping a safe distance from other vehicles during the monsoon, etc.
This campaign will continue spreading awareness of monsoon-related road and health safety concerns.
Additionally, the campaign stresses monsoon-related health concerns such as snake bites, dengue, malaria,
and waterborne diseases, and how to stay safe from these issues. The campaign is part of TSM's ongoing efforts to promote safety in its operations and communities.
