Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar Hosts Spectacular 61st Annual Day Celebration

Bhubaneswar:6/5/24: The Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar, culminated its much-awaited 61st Annual Day celebration with a memorable showcase of academic excellence and cultural diversity. The event, held on May 6, 2024, marked a momentous occasion for the institute and its stakeholders.

he festivities commenced with the arrival of His Excellency, the Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Shri. Raghubar Das, whose presence added grandeur to the occasion. The traditional lighting of the lamp, accompanied by the melodious strains of Saraswati Vandana, invoked blessings for the success of the event.

Prof. P.C. Agrawal, Principal of the premier institute, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished gathering, expressing gratitude to the chief guest for gracing the occasion. He highlighted the institute’s commitment to excellence in education and its endeavors to nurture the talents and aspirations of its students.

In his address, the Hon’ble Governor expressed his delight at witnessing the institute’s dedication to promoting cultural exchange and educational excellence. He emphasized the significance of initiatives like Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat and underscored the pivotal role of education in nation-building. The Governor lauded the efforts of RIE Bhubaneswar in training and empowering teachers and teacher educators to meet the evolving needs of the education sector in twenty-first century.

The cultural extravaganza unfolded with mesmerizing performances representing the rich cultural heritage of India. From the vibrant Santhali dance from Jharkhand to the graceful Sambalpuri dance from Odisha, and the elegantDhunuchi dance from West Bengal to the energetic Ghoomardance from Rajasthan, each performance captivated the audience and showcased the diversity and vibrancy of Indian culture.

The event concluded on a patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and pride in the nation’s heritage and achievements. The ceremony culminated with the much-anticipated prize distribution, recognizing and honoring the exemplary achievements of students in various curricular activities.

Prof. Ritanjali Dash, Student Council’s Advisor, added depth to the proceedings by presenting the annual report for the session 2023-24. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni attended the programme. The success of the 61st Annual Day celebration is a testament to the Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneswar’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, cultural enrichment, and societal transformation through education.
