Rourkela:29/4/24:Established on August 15, 1961, as REC Rourkela, NIT Rourkela was granted autonomy in 2002 and has since become a premier technical institute under the Ministry of Education. It consistently ranks among the top twenty technical institutions in India, emphasizing research alongside education.NIT Rourkela expanded its courses over the years, introducing multidisciplinary programs like Life Sciences in 2008 and Integrated MSc and School of Management in 2010. With twenty academic departments, including unique ones like Food Process Engineering and Industrial Design, it has one of India’s most diverse curricula.
