Odisha Chief Electoral Officer has reviewed the poll preparedness in the six districts

Bhubaneswar:22/4/24: Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Monday reviewed the poll preparedness in the six districts – Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.

The CEO held a detailed discussion about the preparations for elections in all Parliamentary constituencies and Assembly segments coming under these six districts.

The District Collectors elaborated on the arrangements being made in their respective districts. Similarly, the SPs informed about the law and order situation, seizure, and inspection system in the districts.

The CEO directed to take necessary steps to ensure free and fair elections from the booth levels.

The Chief Electoral Officer advised looking into the use of C-Vigil, Suvidha Portal, Encore Nodal App, accessibility of differently-abled voters and elderly voters, postal ballots, and proper compliance with election code of conduct for ideal election management.

He also advised to encourage women and youth voters to vote. There was a special discussion on how to make more and more voters vote by celebrating the election as the biggest festival in the country. The Chief Electoral Officer is directed to carry out all the work keeping the ‘voters’ at the center of the election management.

Additional DG of Police and State Police Nodal Officer Sanjay Kumar, Central Revenue Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Das, Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda, I.G of Police (CR) Sanjay Kumar Kaushal, and Additional Chief Electoral Officer N. Thirumala Naik briefed about the various aspects of the election preparations.

Khordha Collector Chanchal Rana, Jagatsinghpur Collector Anupam Saha, Kendrapara Collector Suryawanshi Mayur Vikas, Nayagarh Collector Swadha Dev Singh, Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, Cuttack Collector Arindam Dakua, Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh, Khorda SP Awinash Kunar, Jagatsinghpur SP Rahul P R, Kendrapara SP Siddharth Kataria, Nayagarh Sp Rahul Jain and Puri SP Pinak Mishra attended the meeting.
