SSEPD of Odisha To Impart Skill Training To PwDs For Employment In Hotel & Hospitality Sector

Bhubaneswar: 11/3/24:The State Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department has taken the initiative to impart skill training for hearing-impaired youths in the hospitality sector.

About 150 youths in 5 batches will be trained through the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition.

The institute, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, GoI will provide necessary skill training for the purpose, as envisaged in an MoU signed between the Institute and the Department.

SSEPD Department Principal Secretary Bishnupada Sethi said that necessary skill training for PwDs will open more vistas for gainful employment in the Hotel and Hospitality Sector. “The State Government gives importance to creating more employment opportunities among PwDs,” he said.

In the presence of senior officers of the Department, Dilip Kumar Ray, Special Secretary and Smt. Sharada  Ghosh, the Principal were signatories on behalf of the Department and the Institute respectively.
