Commissionerate Police has launched the Street Crime Prevention and Detection Unit 24×7 Helpline number

Cuttack:19/2/2 4: The Commissionerate Police has launched the Street Crime Prevention and Detection Unit 24×7 Helpline number in Cuttack UPD.

The 24×7 mobile number is 7978894405. It will function in addition to ongoing control room number 112.

Street Crime includes any information on movement of anti-socials, miscreants, public consumption of liquor, any instance of snatching, etc. The Cuttack residents can call or send WhatsApp on any Street crime-related issues. The call / WhatsApp message will be directly received in control room and details will be noted.

The police will contact the caller within 15 minutes and ensure prompt action along with logical disposal of the complaint within 24 hours, the DCP Cuttack informed.

All calls made on this number will be reviewed daily by Addl DCP Crime, UPD Cuttack, Anil Mishra on daily basis. If any complaint is not resolved in 24 hours, complainants can contact Addl DCP Crime or DCP Cuttack directly.

Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police has appealed to residents of Cuttack UPD to cooperate to make this initiative a success.
