Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated several projects and laid the foundation stone in Ganjam district

Ganjam:14/2/24: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated several projects and laid the foundation stone for others in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

The chief minister, on a one-day visit to the district, inaugurated 7 projects for Rs 181.78 crore and laid stone for 8 projects in Hinjili-Sheragada. Addressing the public on the occasion, he said Hinjili-Sheragada has emerged as the best block in the country and an ideal constituency.

“The state government’s transformation drive under 5T initiative was started from here. Maa Tara Tarini shrine and high school were the first to have transformed the state. Now more than 8,000 high schools have been transformed for the benefit of the students,” he said.

Then the chief minister inaugurated 24 projects worth Rs 639,81 crore and laid stone for 54 projects to be implemented for Rs 2,994 crore at Sitalapalli. He said foundation stone for irrigation and drinking water projects worth more than Rs 5,000 crore was laid in the district on the occasion of Saraswati Puja. Dedicating a 200-bed SUM Super-Specialty Hospital at Sitalapalli to the people, he hoped that it would meet the medical needs of the residents.

Naveen also laid the foundation stone for 1.10 MTPA green ammonia plant to be set by ACME for Rs 27,000 crore at Gopalpur. Besides, the stone for AVAADA green hydrogen plant for Rs 8,000 crore was also laid by him. The two projects will create employment opportunities for 5,200 local youths.

He also laid stone for construction of a utility corridor between Gopalpur port and Tata Steel SEZ for Rs 128.88 crore. 5T chairman VK Pandian accompanied the chief minister during the visit.
