Padmapur is all set to be announced as new district on the 30th of this month

Bhubaneswar: 21/12/23: As promised by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to the people of Padmapur, the new district of Padmapur is all set to be announced on the 30th of this month.

Naveen had promised the people of Padmapur last November that the new Padmapur District will be formed by the end of 2023, and that promise is going to be fulfilled.

As a New Year’s gift, the people Padmapur will have their own district and their long pending demand for a separate Padmapur district is going to be fulfilled soon.

According to sources, CM Naveen will announce the decision on the 30th of this month. A special meeting of the State Cabinet will be held on the 30th of December and the proposal for the formation of the district will be approved, after which, Naveen will announce this.

All prerequisites have been completed for the formation of the new district of Padmapur. The place has been identified for setting up the Collectorate. According to sources, the Chief Minister’s Office has asked the district administration to complete all the modalities by the end of this month.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had promised that the new Padmapur District would be formed during his visit to Padmapur for campaigning during the by-polls. Again in February, Naveen reiterated his commitment and said that the aspirations of the people of Padmapur will be fulfilled by the end of this year.

The new district will comprise Barpali, Gaisilet, Bijepur, Paikamal, Jharabandha, and Padmapur Blocks including the Padmapur and Barpali NACs. It will have a population of about 7 lakhs.
