Newdelhi:19/12/23:Setting up of 22 new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) across the country has been sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). Out of the sanctioned 22 AIIMS, 6 AIIMS at Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Patna (Bihar), Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and Rishikesh (Uttarakhand) became operational in 2012.  Details of remaining 16 AIIMS is at Annexure.

Bihar AIIMS, Darbhanga 1264 – Encumbrance free land has not been handed over by the State Govt.
Gujarat AIIMS, Rajkot 1195 833.57 79% construction work completed. MBBS classes started and OPD services operationalised

Tamil Nadu AIIMS, Madurai 1977.8 18.37 Pre-investment work completed. Project Management Consultant (PMC) has been appointed.Master plan has been finalized.Tender for main work has been issued to the pre-qualified bidders. MBBS classes have commenced from a temporary campus.
Telangana AIIMS, Bibinagar 1365.95 524.87 44% construction work completed. MBBS classes ,OPD services and IPD services operationalised

The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar stated this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
