Soumya Ranjan Patnaik has stepped down from the post of ‘Sambad’ editor and the Chairman of Eastern Media

Bhubaneswar2/10/23:: Senior leader and media baron Soumya Ranjan Patnaik has stepped down from the post of ‘Sambad’ editor and the Chairman of Eastern Media Limited owing to personal reasons.

Tanaya Patnaik, his daughter and executive director of Sambad Group, has taken charge as the new director of ‘Sambad’. She will succeed him as the new editor of ‘Sambad’.

It is worth mentioning here that Soumya Ranjan Patnaik was removed from the post of BJD vice-president on September 12. He was expelled from the BJD on September 21.

Sambad, the popular Odia news daily, was first published on October 4, 1984. Ever since the foundation of the newspaper Soumya Ranjan Patnaik has been its Editor. Sambad is among the largest circulated Odia newspapers in Odisha. It is published from the capital city of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Berhampur, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Balasore, Jeypore, and Angul. Sambad also has the largest readership in Odisha
