Odisha CM has released 21 additional textbooks for primary classes of Saura, Kui, Kuvi, Gondi, and Munda languages

Bhubaneswar: 1/10/23: Odisha Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik has released 21 additional textbooks for primary classes of Saura, Kui, Kuvi, Gondi, and Munda languages. This dictionary will enrich Santali language and will be especially useful for the additional textbook students in primary education. This 3-volume dictionary was compiled by renowned Santali litterateur Srijukta Chaitanya Prasad Majhi and was edited by an editorial board. The Primers have been developed by the SCSTRTI under Samhati programme under the guidance of Dr. Paramananda Patel.

The Chief Minister thanked the Santali linguists, researchers, and the Tribal Language Culture Institute who worked diligently for this. To create interest and awareness in tribal literature and culture, the department will make all these available online for the public, and language labs will be established in every district. The Chief Minister said that this will create an opportunity for more research on tribal language, literature, and culture

On this occasion Jagannath Saraka, minister, SSDMBCW Department highlighted the efforts put in by the state government for the preservation and propagation of tribal language, literature and culture.
