IIT Bhubaneswar signs MoU with Whizhack Technologies for Cyber Security Ecosystem

Bhubaneswar, 1st September 2023: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhubaneswar has signed an MoU with Gurgaon-based Whizhack Technologies Private Limited in the field of Cyber Security, on 31st August 2023. Whizhack Technologies is a leading vertically integrated Cyber Security company. This association will help in establishing a research and development ecosystem at IIT Bhubaneswar for cybersecurity products and solutions, skilling and knowledge transfer, laboratory development and establishing a Cyber Security Center of Excellence. On behalf of IIT Bhubaneswar, Prof Dinakar Pasla, Dean, Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SRIC) and on behalf of Whizhack Technologies, Mr. Kaushik Ray, Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer, signed the MoU.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dinakar Pasla said that the strategic collaboration with Whizhack Technologies will promote the National Cyber Security Mission towards developing indigenous cyber defense solutions for various safety-critical infrastructure and application platforms. “A center of excellence will be established in the area of Cyber-Physical Systems Security at IIT Bhubaneswar that will pursue research and development, training and knowledge transfer in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain”, he added. Mr. Kaushik Ray from Whizhack Technologies opined, “Given the dearth in India’s cyber security workforce, the burgeoning security breaches, and Government’s priority to strengthen India’s cyber security resource, this collaboration comes at a pertinent time. This center of excellence will be set up for the purpose of advancing scientific and technological products and services IPs for protecting assets of India’s strategic importance like Government infrastructure and Enterprises”.

Among others, Dr. Padmalochan Bera, Associate Professor (Computer Science &Engineering), Prof. Subhransu Ranjan Samantaray, Prof. Manoranjan Satpathy, Dr. Debi Prosad Dogra, Dr. Sudipta Saha and Dr. Siddhartha Borkotoky were present on the occasion.
