ECoR GENERAL MANAGER REVIEWED PROJECTS AT SAMBALPUR

Sambalpur :29/7/23: East Coast Railway General Manager Shri Manoj Sharma in his visit to Sambalpur today, reviewed the on going projects with Divisional Railway Officers of Sambalpur Division. Shri Sharma also inspected Hirakud Railway Station and Freight Train Maintenance Facility with Routine Over-Hauling (ROH) facility for Freight Wagons at Sarla Station

.Reviewing the projects and inspecting Hirakud Station and under construction ROH, Shri Sharma advised concerned officials to focus for the speedy completion of various project works. Shri Sharma also advised officials to coordinate with stake holders including State Government officials for early completion of the projects.Freight Train Maintenance Facility with Routine Over-Hauling (ROH) facility for Freight Wagons at Sarla Station was sanctioned in the year 2017-18 and was proposed to be established at Maneswar Station. Later on, the project has been shifted to Sarla Station in view of feasibility and the estimate of the project was sanctioned at a cost of Rupees 149.37 Crores. Apart from this, MoU was signed between ECoR and RITES for construction of this project. Altogether, 65% construction work of the project has been completed and works are going on in warfoot basis.

This has been possible due to consistent review of project works by Hon’ble Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji. Shri Vaishnaw is giving priority for the Development of Railway infrastructure of the region along with various project works going on in Odisha and also is monitoring the developmental works regularly. Freight Train Maintenance Facility with Routine Over-Hauling (ROH) facility for Freight Wagons at Sarla Station will boost the economy of the region alongwith increasing the capacity of ECoR for freight operations.

Apart from this, Shri Manoj Sharma inspected Hirakud Railway Station and took stock of Rail infrastructural development at the Station. Hirakud Railway Station will be redeveloped, very soon.

Divisional Railway Manager of Sambalpur Railway Division Shri Vineet Singh, Branch Officers of Sambalpur Division and officials from RITES were also present in the review meeting.
