BJD Supremo has said that women empowerment is something that is very close to his heart

Bhubaneswar:22/7/23: Biju Janata Dal Supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said that women empowerment is something that is very close to his heart. Speaking at the Biju Mahila Janata Dal Executive Committee Meeting held today at the Sankha Bhaban, Naveen said “I have always said and I strongly believe that without the empowerment of our mothers, no society, state or country can ever progress. Women empowerment is not a slogan for us but the mantra of progress and development”.

Indeed it is a happy fact that today our Odisha mothers have been empowered. Their role is visible in all spheres of development. They are now equal partners in the development of Odisha. They are taking leadership in the villages and looking after the development of Panchayats, he said.
Naveen also said that Mission Shakti has become the power center of our mothers. Be it paddy procurement, Management of Aahaar Centers in urban areas, electricity meter reading, Jal Sathi, or acting as the watch and ward of the 5T Transformed schools, our mothers are performing their responsibilities efficiently. They are cultivating fish in the village ponds, renovating the city’s water bodies. Mission Shakti cafe is now giving the message of nutrition across the state. They are at the forefront in every good work.

Loans of Rs 11,000 Crore were given to the mothers last year. Interest of Rs 250 crore have been refunded. Now, we are going to start the Scooter Yojana for their communication needs. They will be given loans of Rs 1 Lakh without interest for this which will help them in their mobility. We have started work to take Mission Shakti to the next level – to make our mothers entrepreneurs.
The most important thing is women’s rights. While women are empowered at the grassroots level, they are less visible at the state and national level. We must raise our voice for one third reservation in the Parliament and Assembly constituencies. Biju Janata Dal will continue to fight for women’s rights from villages to the Parliament.

You are all aware of our good work. Take the message of development, of empowerment to people, to every household in every village, and every town. The story of Biju Janata Dal is the story of Transformation of Odisha. Be with people, serve the people and be an agent of transformation of our great state, Naveen said to the members of Biju Mahila Janata Dal.
