BJD candidate for Jharsuguda assembly seat, Dipali Das has won the bypoll with a huge margin

Bhubaneswar:13/5/23: Biju Janata Dal candidate for Jharsuguda assembly seat, Dipali Das has won the bypoll with a huge margin. While Das polled 1,07,003 votes, the BJP candidate Tankadhar Tripathy bagged 58,384 votes. Congress candidate Tarun Pandey got 4,473 votes.

“Counting of EVMs have been completed. Very soon the returning officer of Jharsuguda (Sub Collector) will officially announce the results and handover the certificate to the winning candidate,” Chief Electoral Officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal said.

The BJD candidate got more than 60% of the votes and won with a margin of over 48,000 votes, the CEO added.

Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik today described party’s spectacular win in Jharsuguda bypoll as the victory of people and womanhood.

“This victory is the victory of the people of Jharsuguda. The victory of womanhood,” Patnaik said while congratulating party leaders and workers during his speech at Sankha Bhawan here.

The CM said he and his party are indebted to the people of Jharsuguda. He thanked lakhs of party workers who toiled hard in gruesome heat.

The CM promised to take Jharsuguda to take new height. “I promise that Biju Janata Dal will further strengthen its efforts for the betterment of Jharsuguda. The trend of development started by Nab Babu will be taken further”, he pointed out.
