Prof Kishore K Basa has been given the additional charge of the Director General of ASI

Bhubaneswar:10/5/23: Prof Kishore K Basa, Chairman National Monuments Authority (NMA) has been given the additional charge of the Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

According to a notification released by the Ministry of Culture today, Prof Basa will have the additional charge until further orders or the nomination of a regular Director General of ASI, whichever occurs first.

Prof Basa is a former Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo University in Odisha and has also served as the Chairman of the Indian National Confederation and Academy of Anthropologists.

He has previously worked as a lecturer at Utkal University in Bhubaneswar and as the head of the Anthropology department at the same university. He obtained his PhD from the University of London in 1991.
