Workshop on “Green Investment in Tourism” for the Officers of Odisha Tourism was inaugurated

Bhubaneswar:12/2/23:The inaugural programme of the two-day workshop on “Green Investment in Tourism” for the Officers of Odisha Tourism was organized today by Department of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha in association with Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. The workshop, to be conducted on 12th and 13th February 2023 at IITTM Bhubaneswar and Eco Retreat, Konark respectively,was enriched by eminent academicians, social entrepreneurs, policy makers, product developers/providers. Shri Sachin R Jadhav, IAS, Director and Additional Secretary to Govt., Department of Tourism in his inaugural address stressed on new focus areas for Odisha tourism as well as launching of innovative tourism products to utilize the green investment assets of Odisha. Dr. Md. Sabir Hussain, Nodal Officer and Head gave the Key Note address about Green Investment and elaborated on the purpose of organizing this workshop. Shri Lenin Mohanty, Chairman, OTDC applauded the new initiatives of the tourism department and reiterated the significant role of tourist officers in redefining the image of tourism in Odisha. Mr. A.N.S. Laguri, Additional Secretary, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Odishathanked the delegates, tourist officers and other eminent tourism experts for taking focused strides towards revival of tourism in the state.

The two-day workshop will comprise of 5 sessions, i.e., three sessions on first day on 12th February 2022 and two sessions on second day, 13th February. In today’s workshop, eminent academicians and experienced professionals from the tourism sector delivered their real experience to the officers of Odisha Tourism.Shri Siddhanta Das,(FS (Retd), former member of National Green Tribunal and Chairperson, Odisha Real State Regulatory Authority,Odishagave a presentation on the Role of green tribunal in monitoring and steering green investment in tourism: a real life experience.. Shri Shakti Nanda, Founder and Principal Architect & Chief Photographer, Panorama Visualization and Director, Open Wildlife Lounge, presented Photography Investment Opportunities in Odisha”.Ms.Kavya Saxena, Co-founder, Craftportly and Coordinator, FICCIstressed on “Green tourism paradigms and reality”.After the first day session, the officers visited Dhauligiri for light and sound show.
