President Droupadi Murmu offered prayer at the Lingaraj Temple

Bhubaneswar11/2/23: President Droupadi Murmu, who is on her two-day visit to Odisha since yesterday, offered prayer at the Lingaraj Temple here today.

Before offering prayer at the famous Shiva shrine, the President moved to Bindu Sagar lake amid tight security making a little modification in her schedule and walked barefoot on the road from the holy waterbody to the Lingaraj Temple.Sources said Murmu offered prayer to Lord Lingaraj by performing Jalabhishek and pouring milk on the Shivling inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple

She was  stay at the temple for around 40-45 minutes.President’s daughter Itishree Murmu accompanied her in the trip to the Lingaraj Temple. Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal was present at the temple for her welcome.

President Droupadi Murmu wrote a note in the visitors’ log at the Lingaraj Temple during her two-day visit to Odisha.After offering prayer to Lord Lingraj at the centuries old Shiva shrine in Bhubaneswar, President Murmu wrote a message in the visitor’s book of the temple praying for well being of her countrymen.
