Odisha government has appointed senior journalist Susanta Kumar Mohanty as the State Information Commissioner

Bhubaneswar:9/2/23 Odisha government has appointed senior journalist Susanta Kumar Mohanty as the State Information Commissioner, Odisha Information Commission.

Information and Public Relations department of the State government on Thursday issued a notification in this regard.

“In pursuance of Sub-Section-(3) of Section-15 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 (22 of 2005), and on the recommendation of the Committee constituted under the said Sub-section of the Section for the purpose, the Governor of Odisha is pleased to notify the appointment of Shri Sausanta Kumar Mohanty as the State Information Commissioner, Odisha Information Commission with effect from the date he assumes charge of office,” read the notification.

Notably, Odisha Information Commission was constituted by the state government through I&PR department notification no. 495/2005 in October 2005. The commission came into existence On November 20, 2005.

The state government appoints a State Chief Information Commissioner and four State Information Commissioners for Odisha Information Commission.
