Cuttack:9/1/23: Preparation for the opening ceremony of FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup-2023 at Barabati Stadium here has reached its last phase.5T Secretary VK Pandian and Sports and Youth Services department Commissioner-cum-Secretary R. Vineel Krishna today visited Barabati Stadium and reviewed the preparation.

Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) president Pranab Prakash Das, Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Souvic Biswal, Banki MLA Devi Ranjan Tripathy, Mayor Subhash Singh, Cuttack Collector Bhawani Shankar Chayani, Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarsi, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Cuttack Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra and other senior officials were present at the review meeting.

The 5T Secretary directed the officials concerned to expedite the work and make all arrangements for the January 11 mega event.

The Cuttack district administration, CMC, Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and the Commissionerate Police are working in close cooperation for smooth orgnisation of the hockey world cup opening ceremony, said CDA Chairman Anil Kumar Samal.

“The entire city has been decked up for the mega event. The roads have been widened, footpaths and walls have been painted and streets have been illuminated as part of the city beautification project. It is a proud moment for all of us,” Samal added.
