Commissionerate Police need to improve its capacity to deal with cybercrime effectively: Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar:9/1/23:Congratulating members of Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswarcuttack on the raising ceremony of Commissionerate Police, CM Naveen Patnaik said in these 15 years, Commissionerate Police has grown substantially in quality & spread. CM appreciated police personnel for their dedicated service during Covid pandemic.CM extended its deepest condolences & sympathy to family members of police personnel who have laid down their lives during a pandemic. CM said Commissionerate Police is doing a good job in launching citizen-centric initiatives like ‘Basti Ku Chala’, and ‘Dreams – The De-Addiction Programme’.

.Appreciating the important role of police in mega events like MakeInOdisha Conclave, FIFA Under-17 Girls World Cup and celebrations of various festivals in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, CM said he expects the same quality of service in the coming HockeyWorldCup2023.CM asked Police Dept to introduce more technological interventions to enhance the effectiveness of policing tasks. Terming Cyber Crime as a big challenge, CM asked Commissionerate Police to improve its capacity to deal with it effectively so that it can become a model in the country.
“Cyber Crime has emerged as a big challenge. I want Commissionerate Police to improve its capacity to deal with it effectively so that it can become a model for the country,” said the Chief Minister at the raising ceremony of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commisionerate Police. He informed that one dedicated Mobile Application for Senior Citizen’s grievance redressal shall start functioning.

He informed that one dedicated Mobile Application for Senior Citizen’s grievance redressal shall start functioning. In the last year, many police stations have become child friendly. In the coming days, all police stations of Commissionerate Police will be Child Friendly as per the policy of government, Naveen said.

“I expect the Commissionerate Police to be more vigilant and effective in the areas of crime control, crime detection, Law and Order management, disaster management, traffic management and anti-narcotics drive, and other areas of security issues,” he added.
