Eminent Odia columnist Haraprasad Das filed defamation suit against ‘Sambad Kalika’and its editor includes other seven

Bhubaneswar:5/8/17:The noted writerharaprasad Das has filed the civil defamation  suit against ‘Sambad Kalika’and its editor along with other seven with senior civil judge and a criminal defamation case with Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) here this evening.

Sources said, Das has filed cases against Jayasish Ray, Manu Das, Asit Mohanty, Amiya Pandav, Pallishree Pattnaik, Srikulangar, Bimalendu Mohanty and Umakant Rout for levelling false allegations against him.

The multiple award-winning writer has named ‘Sambad Kalika’ an Odia daily, and its editor and publisher in his defamation suit.

Notably, news about Das sexually harassing a Kalahandi-based woman teacher-writer on the pretext of helping her winning awards was first published in Sambad Kalika.
